December 11 — Tips for my twenties, a personal invite, automation, BJJ fight

I got 4th place in my jiu jitsu competition

Well, there were only four in my division. I did really enjoy the NAGA comp though, more than others. It was my first competition as a blue belt, which I earned only a month ago but I held my own in both my matches. I was afraid of fighting against blue belts before this weekend. Now I am much less afraid. It’s achievable.

I had been cutting weight for a month prior. And it felt soo good to finally eat a nice big meal afterward.

Tips for my twenties

Choose an old contractor and a young doctor.

My automation got featured

Automation software today is designed to connect thousands of online platforms and tools to work together inside a planned workflow. For example, an automation might check a folder in your email for invoices. When it finds one, it reads the invoice, enters a line in a spreadsheet, submits a transaction to accounting software, and sends you a notification on Slack. Simple example.

Enter AI on the scene. LLMs like GPT4o and Claude are tools also available within automation, so we can incorporate AI for decision making and other powerful functions. But not all automation needs to be powerful, to be useful.

One of the automation workflows I built recently serves one simple function: to create a new recurring Zoom meeting and redirect a short link (like http://example.com/meet-me) to the meeting link. This gives the user one single short link they can share with anyone to join them on Zoom.

That’s it, that’s all it does.

One of the automation platforms I build on, n8n, encourages sharing automation workflows with the community. I submitted this automation recently and it got featured on their website. Woohoo!
