September 24 — New kids song, Swiss Braveheart, Nazis & drugs, and a guessing game!

Show and Tell!

Are you smarter than a kindergartner? My son is in Pre-K and has to take a toy to school each week and show it to the class. Each toy must fit into a gallon-sized bag, and before revealing it, he gives three clues to the class to try and guess what it is. I figure I’ll give you a chance to guess as well. This one starts with the letter ‘A’.

  1. It is spiky.
  2. It has tough skin, like a lizard.
  3. It has a strong tail.

Look for the answer in next week’s email!

Drugs used by Nazis

I listened to an in-depth and enlightening podcast this week with Lex Fridman interviewing Norman Ohler. Ohler, a journalist and published author, shared a great detail from his research, which involved traveling to the ends of the world, interviewing dozens of people, and even bribing a pharmaceutical gatekeeper with drugs (3:45:14).

This was a very interesting interview and shed light on the German Army’s use of drugs, and how this transitioned into research in the CIA. Lest we forget a lot of America’s secret research began with the end of the Nazi party…

A movie I watched

This week I learned about the epic legend of Wilhelm (“William”) Tell, who in Swiss folklore is something of a Braveheart. He rallied the farmers against the armies of the 14th century Austrian empire, using ferocity and the love of their homeland as their drive in war. It’s a great movie, definitely gory.

I made music

Using Suno Ai, a cutting edge Ai music generator, I created some fun songs in a very short time. Here’s a kids song about a magic bike that teaches children valuable street awareness around town. It’s called Magic Wheels Adventure. And for my chill, house, electronic music lovers, you might dig Neon Shadows. It’s a musical representation of my mind.

And if you use this link to sign up and create 10 songs, we’ll both get 250 credits (~50 songs).
