November 27 — All the Things I’m Thankful For

All the things I’m thankful for

This year, I have a lot to be thankful for. I’ve got two small boys at home, a happy wife, a business and a dream, and a home that’s stood the test of time to keep us warm.

I’m thankful for the good nature my boys have and are developing. Their positivity and high energy keeps us smiling all (well, most of) the time. They sleep through the night until it’s time to wake up; they play together, albeit a little rough at times; and they are learning to be courteous and develop good character. I am so thankful that my son asks me eagerly to read his Bible – every single night.

I am also thankful for my rather odd sense of humor, which I enjoy. I love that I can laugh with others, and even laugh at my own ridiculous thoughts and wild imagination.

I am grateful for my wife. I appreciate her drive in life, both in vocation, and in raising our children. I love that she cares enough about our marriage and family to read books and lead couples groups with our church. I love that she packs the kids’ bags before we travel. I love her smile and laugh. I love that she tactical-parks the car (that’s reverse parking so you can drive out forward). She’s amazing and I’m so thankful she’s my wife and life partner.

My wife and I both hit the genetic jackpot – we come from families full of love for one another. That familial love is totally irreplaceable with all the things of the world. And there’s no way to fake it either. We’re lucky, that’s it. We did nothing to earn it and we didn’t choose it. We were both born into a great situation and we both strive to offer the same to our own kids. I am thankful that our parents love us, love our kids, and always welcome us with open arms and warm hearts.

As my business grows, I’ve learned to depend on a number of talented and smart people both near and far. My only regret working with people far away is that I can’t see them in person as often as I’d like. I would extend this gratitude to include many people in my network, people who understand my business and introduce me to the right people have helped me grow in many ways, and I’m so thankful for them.

Most importantly I’m thankful to have a God who loves me enough to have given his own son as a sacrifice for my sin, to offer me eternal salvation. Without this, I don’t stand a chance at getting into heaven. Can’t do it myself.

Stay ahead of Ai news

It’s become overwhelming trying to keep up with all the news and releases and developments in the Ai and tech space. From corporate shifts, buyouts, new products and language models, to the many tools and platforms that continue to get updates and feature add-ons, keeping abreast of the happenings is itself a burden.

I needed a way to consolidate this and distill it down to the essentials. Nothing extra, no wasted words, no fluff. And it arrives in my inbox each afternoon.

Show and Tell

Are you smarter than a kindergartner? My son is in Pre-K and has to take something from home to school each week and show it to the class. Each item must fit into a gallon-sized bag, and before revealing it, he gives three clues to the class to try and guess what it is.

  1. It stings.
  2. It has lots of tentacles.
  3. It lives in the ocean.
