Fundraising for Guatemala
In May, I will return to Guatemala with my church. This year we’ve got several new team members who will be going for their first time, so I’m excited to be able to share this experience with new people.
If you haven’t read yet about my last trip to Guatemala, you can read it here and see a photo of me and Melvin. The people we will help this year are children in an orphanage, the “Basurero” people who scavenge trash for things to sell, and a remote village where children at 12 years old are expected to become adults and work or start families.
If bringing food, medical supplies and the Word of God to these people who have nothing touches your heart, consider supporting our mission. This will lighten the financial burden on our team members and allow us to designate more funds for buying food in-country.
A heartwrenching movie I watched
Brave the Dark is a story of a boy with no family dealing with unimaginable trauma, and his teacher who takes him into his home and his life. Released by Angel Studios, the same studio that produced the film Bonhoeffer last year, Brave the Dark is touching, raw, funny, inspiring, devastating, hopeful, and full of love, all mixed together in a swirl of great acting and storyline that feels so authentic it could only be based on a true story. Which it is.
I recommend this film as a must-see. It’s somber and not lighthearted so choose the timing appropriately.
A true VIP experience
Imagine you get shuffled around, carried and placed gently in the car, where you’re driven around by someone, right to where you need to go. Imagine you fall asleep and are gently woken up exactly where you wanted to go, to play on a playground, or swimming pool, sledding, hanging out at the beach.
Imagine you could live the life of a child again. It’s a true VIP experience.
