July 9 — I’ve been away but built an Ai sales agent, school’s out for summer, Bernie Sanders interview

I skipped last week’s Whatsup Wednesday

Uh-oh! First time ever that I skipped my weekly email but you know what? It felt good to enjoy the time off from regular responsibility and just relax with my family, especially after all the training, and strict dieting leading up to my latest competition on the 28th.

Did you miss me?

My son in BJJ camp

I’m going to be completely open with you: I was under-prepared for my first “kids out for the summer,” as a parent. I realize this sounds pretty simple but I assure you there’s a lot more packed under the hood on this one.

So my older son is out of daycare, official. So that means summer camps! (And driving him back and forth…) But I’ll tell you, he’s loving jiu jitsu camp so far. It’s really exciting to see my boy doing break-falls, bumps and escapes from bottom mount, and having fun on the mat. I’m super proud of him.

Oh and he loves School’s Out by Alice Cooper.

Podcast I listened to

Joe Rogan’s interview of Bernie Sanders was a bit disappointing. Bernie is actually a pretty interesting guy, and has a truly colorful past, definitely not boring. They talked about a lot of important issues and for many parts agreed on most subjects. But Bernie was mostly giving lip service to his following while Rogan was trying to get real.

I was kind of stunned at one subject they agreed on, and it’s hard for me to believe Rogan is a fan of universal basic income. That’s kinda wild. That’s got to be the most socialist concept he gets behind.

I built a voice agent for sales

I spent a day last week building a custom voice agent, trained on my company’s services, that jumps in at specific points in my sales funnel to make and receive calls. It’s not to be confused with a human experience, however it is connected to my booking service and seems to be able to book meetings with some degree of proficiency.

Want to try it out?

You can book a discovery call with me on this page, using the “Start a call” button. And if you don’t actually want to have the meeting, you can cancel it when you get the email. You will have to allow your browser to access your microphone (don’t worry, it will only be listening during the call).

PS – feel free to let me know if you find any bugs, and there are bugs.
