Feb 25 — Let it snow, robots doing human things, humans doing robot things, show and tell

Massive snow storm

We got a record blizzard in the northeast that has kept me and my wife quite busy since Sunday. Between two snow days, shoveling, and building a ski jump and an epic igloo, needless to say I didn’t need any extra exercise. The igloo is nearly done and when finished, it will be big enough for several people to sit inside, maybe have some hot cocao.

All the OpenClaw Madness

I’m listening to an interview with the creator of ~~Clawdbot, Moltbot~~, OpenClaw, Austrian Peter Steinberger telling of his journey in creating and launching the “AI that does things”. OpenClaw has become insanely popular in recent weeks (the fastest GitHub repository to reach 100k stars) for a lot of reasons but mainly because of its diversity of capabilities.

It’s an agentic AI program that you can add to a computer or server, give it a life-destiny assignment, and it goes to great lengths to complete it’s destiny. There are rumors of people giving it their credit card number and the thing makes purchases on their behalf.

The craziest concept I’ve heard so far is Moltbook, a social media platform for OpenClaw agents to chat together. I don’t believe it’s 100% organic Ai-generated content; I think the more unhinged comments are likely prompted by humans targeting a specific outcome.

Epic robot dance

This is, I think, the most fascinating robot dance I have ever seen.

Show and Tell

Are you smarter than a kindergartner? My son is in Pre-K and has to take something from home to school each week and show it to the class. Each item must fit into a gallon-sized bag, and before revealing it, he gives three clues to the class to try and guess what it is.

  1. It’s an animal.
  2. Its tail is black and gray.
  3. It rummages through trash.
