Pain, survival and the power of the mind
Dr. Andrew Huberman, an absolute legend in brain science, released this podcast episode about pain and the power of the mind to overcome it. This was a good one and super interesting if you are into the mind’s ability to override sensory systems. Listen to the whole episode or listen in starting at 3:56 for a specific example of a fascinating phenomenon.
A podcast on parenting
Tim Ferriss recently interviewed AngelList co-founder Naval Ravikant and Aaron Stupple, author of The Sovereign Child. This was a good episode. I definitely do not agree 100% with Stupple’s parenting methodologies but much of it I find promising and absolutely worth a try. It’s a very, very nontraditional take on parenting, have a listen!
Adaptivity is a premium feature
Speaking recently with my incredibly talented copywriter, designer and virtual admin, Tharanie, I realized how adaptive she is. And I realized how vital the ability to adapt and be flexible is, in a virtual working relationship.
Tharanie and I are many time zones apart so working together functionally requires us both to take a smart approach to the time difference. And that means we need a smart system that we both follow.
I continue to be amazed by Tharanie’s tenacity and ability to flex and fill new roles and responsibilities with me as my own responsibilities change with my growing business. This is a big Kudos to Tharanie for being dynamic and downright awesome!
Video: my boy skiing!
My son who’s 3 went skiing for his first time this past weekend and I couldn’t be more thrilled! We started on the bunny slope and there was a special moment where I looked in his face and suddenly I was my father and my son was me, when I was 3 learning to ski. It was a beautiful generational moment. Thanks to my wife, you can watch that moment below.
After the bunny slope, my boy rode his first chairlift to the TOP of the mountain, and he skied the entire way down on a harness. It’s a start and I couldn’t be more proud.
