Marvin Heemeyer and the Colorado Killdozer

TL;DR

Marvin Heemeyer, a welder and automobile repair shop owner, used a modified bulldozer to destroy several buildings in Granby, Colorado, in 2004. This rampage, later dubbed the ‘Killdozer,’ stemmed from long-standing disputes with Granby officials and others over zoning rules that allegedly hampered his business. Over 18 months, Heemeyer secretly fortified a Komatsu D355A bulldozer with steel and concrete, creating a tank-like vehicle. On June 4, 2004, he demolished the town hall, a former mayor’s house, and other structures before committing suicide as the bulldozer got trapped in debris. No one else was harmed during the incident.
